Roughing it in Mzuzu! Yes, I'm back for trip 4 and brought another missionary with me.

Nicole and Praise smiling for the world to see! They were playing outside naming all the animals in Tumbuka, the language of Northern Malawi. Nicole went on her 1st adventure today to pickup a truck load of limestone, we both wished our American kids could be riding in the truck with us.

I'm so glad we brought warm clothes for the kids because I'm wearing some of them myself to keep warm, it's winter here and so far it has been cold and damp- no heat in the houses except the stove we cook dinner on.

Meet 3 year old Janie

Here she is, the little one that I spoke of in the last post. She was( now with Hesed) living with her grandmother who could not afford to feed herself let alone  little Janie. Janie is like all other 3 year old little girls, sweet, talkative and active. She very much enjoys the warm shower and clean clothes every morning that Hesed has provided her. And most of all the love and attention of 7 new sisters and Missionary/ Gogo Lynda. I am back in New York right now but very anxious to go back to my 26 grandchildren.

Added 4 more and we still have children waiting to come.

Can you believe it? These 4 little children were abandoned by their Mother, Father and then Uncle. Left in the middle of town alone with no one to care for them. The police were notified but there wasn't anywhere to take them. After 3 days of staying with the nice lady who found them and tried to find their parents, she had to bring them to Hesed and ask for help. She couldn't afford to feed and clothe them.
There is a old feeble Grandmother out there waiting for us to take her 3 year old granddaughter and 7 year old grandson. And a very sick Grandfather trying to care for a 4 year grandson asking for help. Just to mention a few, there are more.

People I have to say, "Help". These children are suffering and have no way to move out of their desperate life without our help.

11 new Children to care for

These are the girls! We are up to seven--the little one in the very middle is a boy who is a family member of Samuel's and is sharing his room with seven girls and so it just didn't seen right to not let him in the picture. Five of them are... not at this moment sponsored by anyone and we are trying hard not to let them be an undue burden on Bishop's Samuel's home. They are destined to be housed along with five more girls in the new residence yet to be built. We are calling it "Bethel House" after Bethel Christian Fellowship that has agreed to build the girl's building. But in the meantime these girls like the girls in your family need food and clothing and medical care and school supplies etc...We are looking for $50.00 per month per girl while they are at Samuel's house to help defer his costs. When the girls are in their own home they will need $75.00 per month. Can you help? www.Hesedmissions.org

Our little girls waiting for a house to be built.

We already have 4 girls waiting for a house to be built for them living with us. There are more girls waiting but can't take any more right now. Our 4 girls are 7, 6 and two 4 year olds. They like watching cartoons and kid shows but mostly they play outside all day. Yesterday we did some crafts together and hung them up, they were very proud to see there projects on the wall.

Life is good for these boys now, Praise God!

Here I am back in Mzuzu with the kids, yeah! They started school in January and are very happy about it. 2 of the kids had a stomach and head ache bug when I got here but are all better now. Peter came down with Malari this past week and has been feeling pretty lousy.

I brought mosquito net materail with me and installed it on thier bunk beds to help protect them at night. We also sprayed the windows, curtains and beds with a spray from Passport health that I purchased at home. This stuff will stay on your clothes for 6 months so we'll only need to spray twice a year.
